Fat Hen Grocery at 7457 St. Charles Avenue is featuring a children’s coloring contest from December 1 through December 21.

Festive Fat Hen-themed artwork is available at the restaurant for children ages 10 and under to color and enter in the contest. The contest will culminate on a special Fat Hen Holiday Family Day on Wednesday, December 21, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with complimentary homemade non-alcoholic Egg Nog and Sugar Cookies.

Two (2) Fat Hen Grocery Family Gift Certificates each valued at $50 will be awarded at a drawing to be held at 3:00 p.m. during Family Day. One certificate will be awarded for artwork entered by children up to 6 years of age, and one for artwork entered by children ages 7 to 10 years. (Contestants need not be present to win.)

Says Chef-Owner Shane Pritchett, “Families are important to us and constitute a large part of our business. This Family Day party and the December holiday coloring contest are our way of giving back to the families that support us throughout the year.”

A live jazz trio will perform holiday music during the Family Day festivities.

Fat Hen Grocery features a “fine diner” menu seven days a week. Breakfast is served all day, and a heartier lunch / dinner menu is served from 11:00 a.m. until closing. The Fat Hen is open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

A special children’s menu is available daily and includes such favorites as Pancakes, French Toast, Cheeseburgers, and Chicken Tenders as well as daily specials.
